Steam distilled from the flowering tops, Melissa true has a rich lemon smell accompanied by green, earthy, grounding undertones. Melissa true is grounding and cheering and is a great oil for women.

Melissa True is a perennial plant about 60 cm high with a hairy stem, dark green leaves and small white flowers.  The plant is highly aromatic and the oil is distilled from the flowering tops. Native to the Mediterranean region but now commonly grown throughout Europe, Middle Asia, North America and North Africa. It is mainly cultivated in France, Spain, Germany and Russia. There are several other species of this plant, many of which can be found in common gardens.
