A dark blue or a greenish-olive liquid with a fresh, green and sweet-herbaceous odour.

Yarrow has a fresh, green, sweet-herbaceous, slightly camphoraceous odour. Yarrow-Steam distilled from the dried herb Yarrow is cleansing, calming and circulatory.

A perennial herb with a simple stem up to 1 metre high with finely dissected leaves giving a lacy appearance. it bears numerous pink-white flowers with dense flower heads. A very extensive species others include the musk yarrow which produces an Essential Oil that contains mainly Cineol which is used in the preparation of "iva liquor", a medicinal aperitif. It is currently in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia as a specific for thrombotic conditions with hypertension.
