Shea Butter 

Shea Butter provides soothing, regenerating and protective properties. Shea butter contains allantoin, a substance that is found to stimulate the growth of healthy tissue in ulcerous wounds (Warra, 2011).

Shea butter is also known to be a natural emollient which means it will help dry skin and skin cracking. Two ingredients from shea butter are; triterpene acetate and cinamate esters, research suggests that these two ingredients also possess anti-inflammatory properties (Varothai, Nitayavardhana and Kulthanan, 2013).

Vitamin E 

Vitamin E is one of the best ways of supporting your skin, it helps and supports the body in various ways. Vitamin E is an essential nutrient with anti-inflammatory properties, it’s also an antioxidant which helps the body at fighting with free radicals in the environment. Vitamin E is also known to be beneficial at reducing UV damage to the skin (Whelan, 2018).

Bergamot Essential Oil 

The components in bergamot oil give it its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making this oil an effective treatment for acne in people who do not have sensitive skin (Whelan and Wilson, 2018). 

A study carried out in 2019 showed that the oil was successful in neutralizing Staphylococcus aureus, a bacterium that is known to cause skin infections from pimples to skin sepsis (Lazarotto et al., 2018). 

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

Roman chamomile oil has many benefits to the skin, one of them being wound healing, a study in 2018 investigated two different ointments, one with the essential oil and one without. The chamomile Roman essential oil ointment had a higher wound healing percentage and antibacterial activity compared to the one without (Kazemian et al., 2018).

Another study looked at the effectiveness of the essential oil in relieving atopic dermatitis (eczema). The conclusion was that test subjects who had this essential oil massaged onto their skin had much lower skin irritation compared to those who didn’t (Lee, Heo and Kim, 2010).

Chamomile roman essential oil is also used as a pain relief, a study carried out in 2015 involved people applying dilute chamomile essential oil onto the skin to treat osteoarthritis (Joint condition), results showed that participants who used the oil were less in need of using pain relief compared to participants who did not (Shoara et al., 2015).

Juniper Wood/Needle Essential Oil

Juniper oil has natural antibacterial properties and is one of the most popular home remedies for fighting skin irritations like rash or eczema (Azzimonti et al., 2015).

Juniper essential oil is also a well-known antiseptic and has been used to treat people who were wounded in wars or athletes (Rose, 1995). The oil also promotes wound healing and will protect the wound from infections (Nagdeve, 2020).  

Another property of the essential oil is to act as a natural skin toner and reduce any skin blemishes, it encourages a clear and healthy look. Research into this oil also suggests that it can be an insect repellent, the scent of the oil can repel bugs such as mosquitoes etc (Pazinato et al., 2016)

Lavender True Essential Oil

Lavender oil also has anti-inflammatory properties, is ultra-soothing for the skin and is naturally antibacterial which means it kills acne-causing bacteria that can get into your pores (6 Reasons to Use Lavender Oil for Skin | 100% PURE, 2019).

Lavender oil can lessen acne, reduce wrinkles and help lighten the skin, the oil cleans the skin and decreases redness (Werner and Sullivan, 2018). A study carried out in Japan on Lavender oil concluded that the oil promotes the healing of skin tissue and accelerates wound healing (Mori, Kawanami, Kawahata and Aoki, 2016).

Apply liberally as needed onto clean dry skin to help soothe, nourish, and protect delicate skin.
