10ml Essential Oil Blend - Hand-made in the UK
Ho Leaf is highlighted for frigidity and apathy. The main chemical component is linalool, which has been found to have a relaxing effect.
Ylang Ylang has been used traditionally in Indonesian culture, where its flowers are scattered or extracted and sprayed onto the beds of newlyweds (Rhind, 2012). This is due to its considered aphrodisiac properties, as it is reportedly both relaxing and euphoric. The soothing properties are supported by studies showing ylang-ylang applied topically (Hongratanaworakit and Buchbauer, 2006) and inhaled (Moss et al., 2008) significantly increased calmness and relaxation.
Jasmine Absolute has been used as an aphrodisiac for centuries, often in love potions. Its reportedly relaxing, anxiolytic and antidepressant effects may give rise to this indication and have been the basis of many of its uses in aromatherapy today. Furthermore, jasmine is known for its stimulating properties (Davis, 1990), so ylang-ylang could also be described as ‘harmonising’.
Lavandin Super was relatively unknown until the 20th Century as it is a hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender. However, it appears to have some properties of both. It is said to be much less sedative than lavender, so has been used in aromatherapy when the actions of lavender are desired but the sedative effect is not. Like lavender, Lavandin is said to have a relaxant effect and reduce anxiety.
